Dollar Creek Crossing

3205 and 3225 North Lake Blvd, Tahoe City, Placer County

Total Units: 80

Description

The Dollar Creek Crossing project is proposed to be at least 80 affordable units with a reserved area for potential future development. The project is proposed on the 11.4-acre on North Lake Boulevard at Dollar Drive, which was purchased by the county in October 2019 with financial support from the Truckee Tahoe Airport District. This county-owned property is located near schools, transit routes, trails and other services, making it an ideal location for members of the local workforce and their families. Additional studies and community outreach are anticipated before any construction on the site.

Financing Details

In October 2019, the County purchased the property for approximately $3,500,000. The County used funding from multiple sources including the Housing Trust Fund, Transient Occupancy Tax dollars, and the Lake Tahoe Tourism and Promotions budget (currently referred to as Tahoe Economic and Community Enhancement Fund). The Truckee Tahoe Airport District (TTAD) also contributed $500,000 towards the land purchase. Construction is expected to begin in September 2025.
