    HOUSING ACTION

North Tahoe-Truckee Homeless Services (NTTHS) wants to share some exciting news with our community! This year has taken us one step closer to establishing “right size” supports for unhoused neighbors in our region! We are sharing our Annual Report to give you an overview of our programs and some success stories to illustrate the needs and value for our vulnerable neighbors – you can view it here.

As we work to develop stability and continue offering these vital safety nets & housing support, I invite you to reach out!  Want to join an online program overview, take a tour of the center,  learn about volunteering,  help with fundraising, or get answers to any questions? Please send me an email, text or call!

Truckee Launching New Deed Restriction Program Next Month
Final edits of the Below Market Rate Program recently went to the Town Council. The housing program will change names to the Truckee Home Access Program and is expected to launch next month. Full-time resident households may be eligible for assistance of up to 16% of the appraised value of the home, not to exceed $150,000, in achieving home ownership in exchange for a deed restriction. Buyer households, existing property owners, local businesses and building and property developers may qualify for deed purchase incentives. Click here to learn more about the proposed program.

Placer County Housing-Related Code Amendments & Housing Seasonal Workers
Businesses might be able to take advantage of Caretaker and Employee Housing codes in Placer County to provide permanent or temporary housing for employee and seasonal workers at their nonresidential properties. Read the entire code language here. Other notable changes to the amendments include allowing smaller lot sizes and tiny homes as primary or accessory dwelling units, as well as tiny home communities. TRPA requirements for Best Management Practices (BMPs), coverage, and other requirements for new residential development still must be followed.
